Where Do You Get All This Stuff? Behind the Scenes of Our Inventory Sourcing

We get asked this all the time—where do you find your stuff? And I get it. One of the most common things people say when they walk into a space we’ve styled is, “I would never have thought to put this together, but I love it.” And the truth is, a lot of that comes from the way we source.

The Old Lucketts Store in Lucketts, VA!

The honest answer is… everywhere.

There’s no one place or magic website that has it all. Some pieces are brand new, some are vintage, some are found on sourcing trips to big markets, and others come from tiny shops I stumble into when I’m not even looking. I’ve found things at big-name trade shows, in dusty antique stores, at local makers' pop-ups, and yes—sometimes even from the back corner of a warehouse I’ve walked past five times before noticing the perfect mirror.

When I’m sourcing, I don’t just think about whether something is pretty. I think about . . .

- how it will photograph,
- how it will style on a shelf,
- and most importantly, how it will make a space feel.

I want things that feel lived-in but elevated. Pieces that add texture and warmth. Objects that might spark conversation. I also try to look for pieces that will work across different homes and styles. Neutral but never boring. Classic with a little twist.

One of my favorite things is finding those “just-right” items that bring everything together.

Like a wood bowl with the perfect patina, or a lamp with an interesting shape that adds height to a room. And I’ve learned over the years that patience is everything. Sometimes I’ll wait months to find the right piece instead of rushing to fill a gap. I’d rather hold out for something that really works than bring in something that’s just… fine

And yes, we now carry some of our favorite finds in our own shop!

Which honestly feels like a full-circle moment. We realized people weren’t just interested in how we styled homes, they wanted to bring those same textures, shapes, and cozy vibes into their own homes. So now we get to share some of our most-loved pieces with you, which is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

The Shamrock Shop

From our shop to your home, style with items you actually love. We have curated our collection to make your space feel like you.

Sourcing isn’t about chasing trends or filling carts—it’s about collecting the right pieces over time that help tell a story. Whether you’re styling a home to live in or to list, a space should feel layered, warm, and interesting. So next time you see something you love, pick it up. Trust your gut. Those little finds often become the things that make a room feel like home.
